David Guetta ha affidato le parti vocali della sua nuova hit "Blast Off" al cantante e dj australiano Kaz James, che molti ricorderanno come cantante dei Bodyrockers, il gruppo che esplose nel 2005 grazie a "I Like The Way".

Il video della canzone è stato realizzato con le stesse grafiche che ricordano la pop art come i precedenti "Bad" e "Shot Me Down": un ragazzo risveglia una specie di donna-Godzilla grazie alla musica che suona con la sua chitarra.

Il pezzo contiene quello che sembrerebbe un campionamento del riff di "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" dei Van Halen.

Il brano ha debuttato al nono posto della classifica EDM stilata da Beatport del 20 giugno 2014.
