Sia non ha perso tempo e dopo aver reso noto il nuovo brano Bird Set Free, ha lanciato il videoclip ufficiale del suo nuovo singolo.

Stiamo parlando di Alive, pezzo che in principio era destinato ad Adele, ma che poi è finito nuovamente alla cantante australiana ed avrà il compito di spingere le vendite di "This Is Acting", il suo nuovo disco.

Com'era capitato per il video del tormentone Chandelier, anche in questa occasione la protagonista della scena non è la 39enne cantante, bensì una giovane ragazza.

La ragazzina appare vestita con un karategi in fase di meditazione, per poi scatenarsi in mosse tipiche delle arti marziali. Il tutto sembra svolgersi in un tetro stanzone. Sembrerebbe quasi che questa giovane praticante del karate si stia preparando ad affrontare i pericoli e gli ostacoli della vita...

Sia - Alive significato del testo

La parte iniziale del testo sembrerebbe orientata al racconto di una infanzia difficile, durante la quale la protagonista si è vista costretta a giocare da sola. Una volta cresciuta, ha imparato a giocare per conto suo, ma in modo diverso: guardando il proprio tornaconto. 

Proprio per questo è sopravvissuta, nonostante abbia sognato posti dove non poteva andare ed abbia desiderato un amore che non si è accorto del suo malessere. 

Ora questa donna cresciuta in mezzo alle difficoltà "rinfaccia" al mondo la sua forza urlando al suo amore di essere comunque sopravvissuta e nel senso più filosofico del termine di essere viva.
