Billboard Music Awards 2014: in lizza One Direction, Miley Cyrus, Lorde

Billboard (la bibbia della musica USA) ha annunciato ieri sera i finalisti dei Billboard Music Awards 2014. Gli Imagine Dragons e Lorde sono gli artisti con più nomination - ben 12 su 40 categorie - seguiti da Justin Timberlake (11), Katy Perry (10) e Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (8).

Anche Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Eminem, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Lady Gaga e i One Direction sono in lizza in diverse categorie, mentre il grande deluso è Justin Bieber che ha raccolto una sola candidatura come Top Social Artist.

Il titolo per la miglior canzone è una sfida fra "Royals" di Lorde e "Blurred Lines" di Robin Thicke feat. T.I. e Pharrell Williams, ma qualche possibilità la mantengono anche "Radioactive" degli Imagine Dragons e "Roar" di Katy Perry.

Per Lorde è la prima nomination ai Billboard Music Award così come per Avicii, Capital Cities e Sidewalk Prophets. Per il momento è stato svelato soltanto il primo performer della serata: Jason Derulo.

Oltre ai normali premi, verrà assegnato anche il Milestone Award a "un artista innovativo che ha raggiunto un notevole traguardo lo scorso anno". I sei finalisti sono Imagine Dragons, John Legend, Luke Bryan, OneRepublic, Ellie Goulding e Carrie Underwood.

L'evento, che si terrà al MGM Grand Garden Arena di Las Vegas, sarà trasmesso in diretta domenica 18 maggio sul canale ABC alle ore 20:00 (l'orario italiano è intorno alle 5 di mattina).
