Hurts: il nuovo singolo di Mika nel film di Cotroneo, ecco il video

È online sul canale ufficiale Vevo di Mika il videoclip del suo nuovo singolo, Hurts, già in rotazione radiofonica. Il brano, estratto dall’album “No Place In Heaven”, fa parte della colonna sonora del film “Un bacio”, la pellicola di Ivan Cotroneo nelle sale italiane dal 31 marzo ispirata all’omonimo racconto pubblicato da Bompiani.

Girato a Udine – che ha fatto anche da location per le riprese filmiche –, il videoclip è diretto dal regista del lungometraggio e vede insieme a Mika i tre giovani protagonisti dello stesso (Rimau Grillo Ritzberger, Valentina Romani e Leonardo Pazzagli).

A fare da elemento base della narrazione, e dell’incontro stesso tra Mika e Cotroneo, è una serie di scritte volgari, omofobe e razziste, incise su un muro scolastico. Quanto può ferire una parola? Quanto il giudizio altrui riesce a condizionare le persone, soprattutto se si tratta di giovani? È la riflessione su questi temi a costituire il nucleo del film e del brano Hurts per trovare la forza di rifiutare la violenza e non soccombere alla sofferenza. Gli antidoti? Fantasia, creatività e voglia di sognare.

Così Mika ha commentato la collaborazione con Cotroneo:

Io sono molto protettivo nei confronti dell’uso delle mie canzoni nei film. Quando ho letto la sceneggiatura e ho visto l’uso che veniva fatto della canzone… ho detto di sì subito. ‘Nothing’s only words’. Le parole sono sempre molto importanti, molto potenti. Il ricordo di quello che abbiamo provato quando abbiamo sentito delle parole che fanno male, rimane per sempre.

Risponde Cotroneo:

Quello che mi piace di tutta la musica di Mika è la capacità di essere sì molto intima, ma anche molto aperta verso l’esterno. Corrisponde molto anche al mio modo di vedere il cinema. Le parole hanno la possibilità, terribile, di definire una persona. Questo vale soprattutto per gli adolescenti, come nel film: quando ti viene data un’etichetta, fa paura, perché pensi che tutto il mondo ti conoscerà solo per quello che viene detto di te.
