Tiësto è il DJ più pagato al mondo (detiene il record di 450.000€ per una serata), dal 2002 al 2005 Tiësto è stato eletto dalla rivista DJ Magazine il miglior DJ al mondo. La vera popolarità del DJ olandese però nasce nel 2000 quando suona per 6 ore consecutive al Tiësto Solo. Nel 2013  al DJ di Brema viene assegnato un premio speciale dalla rivista DJ Magazine come Best LEGEND DJ.

Nel 2013 Tiësto ha firmato un contratto milionario con il club Hakkasan a Las Vegas che gli permette di incassare 250.000$ a serata.

Tiësto è il primo DJ al mondo a innaugurare gli eventi negli stadi collezionando record di presenze come una vera pop star:
